How To Find The Perfect Nude Lipstick For You
With so many choices, which one suits you best?
When picking makeup products, you have to consider the shade above pretty much all else. However, once you’re set on the shade, the fun doesn’t stop there, especially when it comes to lipstick!
Say, you’re looking for the perfect nude lipstick. How light or dark should you go? Should you pick one with a pinkish tone or a brown one? These are some of the things you need to consider. Here’s a quick guide to make the decision easier:
Determine your skin’s undertone first.
Some nude shades may look great on women with warm undertones, but they can also make someone with cool undertones look too pale, and vice versa. Obviously, this makes your skin’s undertones a priority consideration.
According to beauty experts, the easiest way to tell is by looking at the veins along your inner forearms. If your veins have a greenish tint, you have warm undertones, and if they look more bluish, you have cool undertones. You can also have “neutral” undertones if you can’t tell whether you have green or blue veins, which means you have more options as far as flattering shades go.
Do a swatch test.
As much as possible, it’s best to try on the lippie before buying one. If you’re at a makeup counter, use a makeup remover pad to wipe the tester prior to swiping on the lipstick. (Safety first!) But if you really can’t do it this way, then swatch the lipstick on your arm or the back of your hand—whichever closely resembles the skin on your face.
Consider the pigments of the lipstick.
Nude shades that are pinkish or reddish like Ever Bilena Matte Lipstick in Port give warmth to any skin tone, and darker shades of nude work best for those with darker complexions.

Morenas with cool undertones look great in dark pinkish nudes, while those with warm undertones can give more definition to their lips with a more caramel shade, such as EB Matte Lipstick in Mirrored Mocha.

Those with light complexions can pull off pigmented beiges or light dusty pinks like EB Matte Lipstick in Skin.

Find the right finish.
Matte lippies is a foolproof choice when it comes to nude lipstick. Of course, make sure that the matte formula of your lipstick doesn’t make your lips appear chapped or dehydrated! (Swipe on some lip balm prior to application if you have naturally dry lips!) If you’re feeling a little extra, swipe on a light gloss to make your puckers pop.
