The Craziest Kilay Trends Of 2017 (So Far)
Would you dare to wear these trends?
It’s been a big past few years for brows: Everyone seemed to suddenly be obsessed to perfect their arches.
Although 2017 isn’t over yet, we’ve already witnessed some crazy—and we’re just going to say it, weird—brow trends all over the internet. We’re not just talking about bold (and almost cartoonish) Instagram brows, too! Beauty addicts all over the world have been so creative with ways on how they do the kilay, we’re actually quite impressed. Here’s a roundup of the craziest brow trends we’ve seen so far:
Honestly, we’re still undecided about how we feel about this one. On one hand, it’s pretty cool, but on the other, it’s actually kinda creepy to look at. Makeup artist Stella S., who first posted pics of the trend on IG, explained that she wasn’t serious about starting a trend, people actually jumped on it and made their own interpretation—check out the glittery one below! (But we think we’ll just stick to feathered brows, thankyouverymuch.)
note to self: when u make a joke about starting a funny brow trend people will take it seriously and…. well. start the trend anyways THANK YOU for all the love and hate on my last pic! i think we should call this #featherbrows so if you actually want to recreate this, pls use the hashtag and tag me in the picture💘 skin: @maccosmetics strobe cream, face&body foundation c1, pro longwear concealer in NC15, fix+ highlight: @maccosmetics Double Gleam brows: glue stick + @anastasiabeverlyhills dipbrow pomade in Dark Brown eyeshadows: @maccosmetics Texture & Coppering lashes: @ardell_lashes Wispies lips: @lipsicosmetics Leros + clear lip gloss
I'm no @stella.s.makeup but I had to give this #featherbrows look a go. Honestly I know she was having a joke but for real this is great. Just a quick few brushes with a clear brow gel to separate and hold and added some gold ✨ my brows are particularly thick, so much so that the hairs just don't like to bend any other way so it didn't work out too well for me. Used @jeffreestarcosmetics Androgyny palette for the eye.
Dragon brows/barbed wire brows
Soon after feather brows went viral came “dragon brows” or what others called “barbed wire brows.” Though it may seem like a lot of work to create, you’ll only actually need a spoolie and some clear brow gel. Gross or gorgeous? You be the judge.
new brow trend #barbedwirebrows ⛓ hashtag it, wear it, tag me in it 😩👏🏼 i'm just kidding lol, but i'm living for these editorial trends, ofcourse they're not everyday but they're super fun to try out. this ones inspired by @athenapaginton 👁 products listed below: __ EYES a. @muacosmetics Iridescent Gold Highlighter b. @mehronuk Concealer Pro Wheel Brown shade for freckles c. @nyxcosmetics_uk Vinyl Liquid Liner for Barbed Wire e. @maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara __ BROWS a. glue stick!
Talk about being extra! Carved brows soon followed suit, taking well-defined brows to the next level. If you’re feeling edgy—or you looking for a look you can sport at a party—you can totally try this look. You’ll only need eyeliners and eyeshadows!
